Planning and Design for Leisure – Planen und Bauen für die Freizeit – Recheres sur l’architecture des loisirs by Georges Candilis (ed. Jürgen Joedicke; Karl Krämer Verlag 1972; Dokumente der modernen Architektur, 9) is an architectural guide to design modern hotels and holiday resorts.

The sunlit coasts, pre-ordained for summer holidays, are in process of metamorphosis. The palaces, hotels, casinos, summer homes and other establishments for holidays before the second world-war, intended for a privileged society of the time, are today isolated, out-dated and transformed. These places are nowadays open to every one, and the masses are unceremoniously invading them, radically changing and sometimes deforming them (…) The opportunity yesterday of leisure for one class has become the right of the masses to leisure today.
